When to Replace a Ballast
Common signs of a failing ballast include slow start-up times, humming or buzzing from the fixture, and the light cycling on and off repeatedly. Most ballasts last 8 to 15 years depending on operating conditions. If yours has been in service longer than that and you are seeing symptoms, replacement is more cost-effective than repair.
