KASTLITE clear polycarbonate sheets handle impacts that would shatter glass or crack acrylic. We stock five thicknesses from 1/16" to 1/2", all cut from optical-grade polycarbonate with UV stabilization built into the material. Polycarbonate is roughly 250 times stronger than glass at the same thickness, which makes it the go-to choice for machine guards, security glazing, greenhouse panels, protective barriers, and any application where breakage is not an option.
Available Thicknesses
Our lineup starts with the 1/16" polycarbonate sheet for lightweight guards and lens covers. The 1/8" sheet is our most popular seller for general glazing, signage, and equipment enclosures. For higher-impact environments, the 1/4" sheet and 3/8" sheet provide serious impact resistance. Our thickest option, the 1/2" polycarbonate sheet, handles industrial-grade applications where safety is the top priority.
Polycarbonate vs. Acrylic: Which Do You Need?
Polycarbonate wins on impact strength and temperature tolerance. Acrylic wins on optical clarity and scratch resistance. If the application involves any risk of impact (ball courts, machine guards, skylights), pick polycarbonate. If you need crystal-clear display cases or signage where scratching is the main concern, acrylic sheets are the better fit. Both materials cut and fabricate with standard shop tools.
