Lighting panels at KASTLITE are diffuser sheets designed to cover fluorescent and LED fixtures in drop ceilings, surface-mount housings, and custom light boxes. We carry both prismatic (textured) and flat (smooth) panels in standard sizes. These are the panels that sit in the bottom of ceiling troffers and spread the light evenly across the room.
I stock 2x2 and 2x4 panels in acrylic and polystyrene. Acrylic panels are more durable and resist yellowing longer. Polystyrene panels cost less and work fine in low-traffic areas where impact is not a concern. Both types are available in clear prismatic, white opal, and frosted finishes.
When to Replace Lighting Panels
If your ceiling fixtures look dim even after replacing the bulbs, the diffuser panel is probably the issue. Over time, UV exposure and heat cause panels to yellow and lose up to 30% of their light transmission. Swapping the panel takes about two minutes per fixture and makes a noticeable difference.
