Plastic Sheets for Every Project and Application
KASTLITE plastic sheets are manufactured in Clearwater, FL and shipped across the United States. Whether you need a single clear acrylic sheet for a picture frame or bulk polycarbonate sheets for a greenhouse build, we stock the material and thickness to match your project. Every plastic sheet we sell is available in standard sizes and cut to size options, so you only pay for what you actually need.
Materials Available
We carry four main plastic sheet types, plus specialty options. Each material has different strengths, so picking the right one saves you time, money, and frustration.
Acrylic Sheets (Plexiglass)
Acrylic sheets are our most popular product line. They weigh about half as much as glass, transmit 92% of visible light (more than glass), and resist UV yellowing for years. We stock clear acrylic sheets from 1/8" to 1/4" thick in standard rectangular sizes. Need a circle, hexagon, or custom shape? Our clear acrylic discs and geometric cut shapes handle that. For signage, displays, and creative projects, our colored acrylic sheets come in packs of 2, 4, or 8 across multiple colors.
Polycarbonate Sheets
Polycarbonate sheets are roughly 200 times stronger than glass and virtually unbreakable under normal use. If your project needs impact resistance (machine guards, security glazing, outdoor enclosures), polycarbonate is the right call. Our 8mm twin-wall polycarbonate panels are especially popular for greenhouse builds because the twin-wall structure traps air, providing better insulation than single-layer sheets.
ABS Sheets
ABS sheets are a rigid, opaque thermoplastic used heavily in automotive parts, electronics housings, and prototype fabrication. ABS machines well, bonds with adhesives, and can be thermoformed at relatively low temperatures. Our black ABS boards feature a textured front surface that hides fingerprints and minor scratches. We also carry white ABS in 1-pack, 2-pack, 4-pack, and 8-pack quantities.
PVC Sheets
PVC sheets are lightweight, moisture-proof, and easy to cut with standard tools. Expanded PVC (also called foam board or Sintra) is the go-to plastic board sheet for signs, trade show displays, and interior wall cladding. Our black expanded PVC sheets and white PVC sheets are both 1/4" thick and paintable.
PETG Sheets and Other Specialty Materials
PETG sheets offer a middle ground between acrylic and polycarbonate: better impact resistance than acrylic, easier to thermoform than polycarbonate, and FDA-approved for food contact applications. We also carry polystyrene sheets for lightweight, cost-sensitive projects. See our white polystyrene flexible board for craft and hobby use.
Quick Material Comparison
| Property | Acrylic | Polycarbonate | ABS | PVC |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Clarity | 92% light transmission | 88% light transmission | Opaque | Opaque (expanded) |
| Impact Strength | Moderate | Very high (200x glass) | High | Moderate |
| UV Resistance | Excellent | Good (with coating) | Poor (indoor use) | Good |
| Machinability | Easy to cut, drill | Easy to cut, drill | Excellent | Very easy |
| Best For | Displays, frames, signs | Greenhouses, guards | Prototypes, enclosures | Signs, wall cladding |
Thickness Options and When to Use Them
Choosing the right thickness depends on span length, load, and whether the sheet needs to be self-supporting. Here are the most common options we carry:
- 1/16" (1.5mm): Flexible, good for curved surfaces, light diffusers, and small craft projects.
- 1/8" (3mm): The most popular general-purpose thickness. Works for picture frames, small windows, sneeze guards, and LED light panels. Our 1/8" cut-to-size clear acrylic plexiglass sheets are a top seller.
- 3/16" (4.5mm): A step up for medium-span applications like cabinet doors and mid-size display cases.
- 1/4" (6mm): Strong enough for tabletops, machine guards, and structural glazing. Available in our 1/4" cut-to-size acrylic and all ABS and PVC products.
- 8mm+ (twin-wall polycarbonate): Designed specifically for roofing, greenhouse panels, and patio covers where insulation and strength both matter.
Cut-to-Size Plastic Sheets
We offer cut to size plastic sheets on most of our acrylic products. You enter your exact length and width at checkout, and we cut the sheet before shipping. No waste, no trips to the hardware store with a scoring tool. For custom shapes (discs, triangles, pentagons, hexagons, stars, arrows, semicircles, and squares), browse our acrylic shapes collection.
